Good Afternoon! A lot of people are aware that there are several promotions going on at the moment to visit Walt Disney World during the summer months. Most include the month of August, and there's a reason. I'm not going to lie, during August in Orlando, it's HOT and humid. But each month of the year in Orlando is hot, and it's true that there are some months that are more comfortable to visit than others. But as everyone well knows, the one thing we can't control is the weather. There is no crystal ball to see what it's going to do while you're on your Walt Disney World vacation, and the best thing you can do is stay up to date on the weather trends in the past years and consult www.weather.com before your trip.
It also helps that before you make your plans to perhaps check this site. It is a different kind of hot going in January versus August. But August may be the only time you can go. Granted, June, July, and August are some of the hottest months of the year in O-town, but also the months when the kids are out of school and summer vacations are in full blast. If you are willing to take your children out of school during the school year, pick a month where you'll get a great deal and you'll have the best chance of the weather cooperating.
What's my recommendation?? January. Crowds are at a minimum, the weather is cooler, and lines are usually short. But keep in mind that Walt Disney World usually does have something going on during each month to entice people to visit their parks...the first week of January is a little busier due to the holiday crowds still lingering, and and also the Walt Disney World Marathon weekend is happening January 6th-9th, 2011. So as it may not be the extreme crowds in the parks that you're expecting, but the resorts will be full. If you're taking your own vehicle, be prepared for some detours and traffic. So in closing, just do your homework when it comes to the weather and pick the date that works best for you, but all we can do in the "longrun" is hope that Mother Nature is nice to you!
